OPINION: Why was Man Monis out on bail?

UPDATE 20/08
The NSW State Corner has granted the DPP the ability to keep 5 documents secret at the Inquest today

The coronial inquest into the Sydney Siege continues this week, and today it was revealed that police disagreed with the decision to give Man Monis bail after he was charged as an accessory to murder.

A year later he goes and holds up the Lindt cafe, resulting in the deaths of himself and two others. What was the judge thinking?

He was charged as an accessory to the brutal murder of his wife! She was stabbed 18 times and burnt to death outside her apartment building BY HIS GIRLFRIEND at the time.

Not only that! He was also on bail for FORTY SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGES. And he was free to walk around and plan last December’s siege. Why?

The police asked the same question when he was granted bail back in 2012.

Obviously, hindsight has 20/20 vision, but this guy was clearly a threat to the rest of society.

And here are the Department of Public Prosecutors at the inquest, trying to suppress the documents that explain WHY Man Monis was walking free. They say it’s because of “confidentiality”. Confidentiality?

The man is dead! He doesn’t need confidentiality! and the rest of us demand to know why he was given a chance to pull off the siege!
